Connected Pronouns

Welcome to today’s grammar lesson on Connected Pronouns.

Connected pronouns are used a lot in Algerian Arabic.
If you understand them well, your speaking will become much more natural and smooth.

In this lesson, you’ll learn:

  • what connected pronouns are

  • and how to use them correctly in your own sentences

    What are connected pronouns?

Connected pronouns are small parts that attach to a word.
They never come alone — they are always connected.

    They can attach to:

    • a noun

    • a verb

    • or a preposition

When they attach, they add a specific meaning to the word.

    1. Connected pronoun + noun (Possession)

The most important and common use is with nouns.

In this case, the connected pronoun shows possession —
in other words, it tells us who something belongs to.
