Top Places to Visit in Algeria During the Four Seasons

Are you planning to visit Algeria but you don’t know which cities are worth visiting during a specific season? Well, here is a little guide for you to help you decide.

(p.s: I’m not a tourist guide. These recommendations are just based on my own experience as an Algerian person living in Algeria my whole life.)

Top Places During the Winter Season ❄️

(November through February)

The Algerian Sahara

If you love desert nature, you will definitely enjoy visiting the Algerian Sahara. It’s one of the biggest deserts in the Arabian world. You can embark on desert tours, camel rides, experience the breathtaking landscapes, including sand dunes, oases, and traditional Berber villages. In Tamanrasset, you will experience the most beautiful desert sunset in the world, Askrem. You can also visit other beautiful Sahara cities with a different style and architecture like Ghardaia and Oued Souf.

Chrea and Tikjda Mountains

If you come from a warm country, you may prefer to experience snowy nature which is found mainly in Chrea and Tikjda mountains. You will enjoy spectacular views of snowy mountains scenery.

Top Places During the Autumn 🍂 and Spring 🌺 Seasons

(September_October_March_April_May)

During these seasons, it’s the best time to visit some famous Algerian historical places like: Algiers (casbah), Batna (Timgad), Setif (Djemila), Tipaza (The Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania and archaeological ruins), Tlemcen (El Mansoura Mosque, Mechouar palace), Constantine (The famous bridges), and Oran (Santa Cruz).

Top Places During the Summer ☀️ Season

(June_July_August)

Generally, it can get really hot in Algeria during the summer season, so it’s better to go to coastal cities where the temperature is bearable most of the time. We have a very long coastline, so you have plenty of choices of some beautiful beaches; like: Annaba (Seraidi), Jijel, Bejaia, Skikda, Mostaganem, Ain Temouchent (Beni Saf), and many more. (p.s: beaches in Algeria are mostly family conservative ones)

These are just a few highlights of the many diverse and fascinating places to visit in Algeria during the four seasons of the year. I hope you found this helpful.
