*** The First Meaning ***

يهدر = يتكلم بصفة عامة

Yahdar = talk

Examples:

راني نهدر معاك

/rani: nahdar m3a:k/

I’m talking to you

من الصباح وهي تهدر

/men sba:7 w hiya tahdar/

She has been talking all day

*** The Second Meaning ***

يهدر = يتكلم لغة معينة

Yahdar = speak a specific language

Example:

هو يهدر شينوي

/howa yahdar chinwi:/

He speaks Chinese

*** The Third Meaning ***

يهدر على (شخص، شيء) = يتكلم عن شخص أو شيء

Yahdar 3la = talk about (someone, something) in a positive or in a negative way

Example:

المدير اليوم هدر عليك

/elyoum elmodi:r hdar 3li:k/

Today the boss was talking about you

*** The Fourth Meaning ***

يهدر في شخص = يتكلم عن الشخص بسوء

Yahdar fi = badmouth

Example:

كانو يهدرو فيك البارح

/kanou yahdrou fi:k elba:re7/

They were badmouthing you yesterday

We also say the last meaning in a different way

يهدر في الظهر = يتكلم عن الشخص بسوء

Yahdar fi dhahrek = talk behind your back

Or the opposite of this phrase

يهدر في الوجه = يواجه الشخص بالكلام السيء

Yahdar fi wajehk = say negative things about you face to face
