Day 4: 30-Minute Speaking Day
We’re already on Day 4 of our 30-minute routine, and today is the day many students get excited about… but also a little nervous.
Today is:
Speaking Day 🇩🇿
And I know how it feels.
You want to speak.
You want to finally use what you learned.
But at the same time, you feel afraid of making mistakes.
So let me remind you of something very important:
Speaking does not mean having a full conversation right away.
Speaking starts with one sentence.
And for today’s routine, I highly suggest using one of my Speaking Practice lessons, because they are designed especially to help beginners speak in a guided way.
Let’s take the example of the lesson:
Step 1: Listen & Focus — 10 minutes
In each speaking video, you’ll usually find 2 conversations.
For example, in the Express Your Feelings lesson, there are 2 conversations you can listen to.
Use the timestamp:
Listen Carefully
Listen to this part at least 3 times.
But don’t just listen passively.
Try to focus on all the little tools that help you speak better:
pronunciation
Algerian intonation
feeling
useful words and expressions
The goal here is not only to understand.
The goal is to feel how Algerian Arabic sounds when it’s spoken naturally.
Step 2: Repeat After Me — 10 minutes
Now use the same part of the video again.
Pause after each sentence and repeat it out loud.
And please don’t whisper 😄
Say it clearly.
Try to copy me as much as you can:
the words,
the rhythm,
the tone,
and even the Algerian personality behind the sentence.
This is how you train your mouth to speak, not just your brain to understand.
Step 3: Speak — 10 minutes
Now it’s time to actually speak.
Use the timestamp:
Speak With Me
This activity is made exactly for this purpose: to help you answer, speak, and practice in a guided way.
Then, if you want to go a little further, take the same lesson topic and make it personal.
For example, if the lesson is Express Your Feelings, try to change the feelings mentioned in the lesson.
Change your answers.
Say how you feel.
Start small.
Short sentences are still real speaking.
And every small sentence you say is helping you build confidence.
Your little challenge for today
Try to practice what you learned with an Algerian family member, friend, or language partner.
And if you don’t have anyone to practice with today, talk to yourself.
Yes, really 😄
Imagine the person you want to speak to and say your sentences out loud when you’re alone.
Believe me, this is a very helpful practice.
Because the more your mouth gets used to speaking, the easier it becomes later in real conversations.
So tell me, which Speaking Practice lesson are you going to use today?
